Here is a list of things that you should think about bringing to the Campference to make your stay comfortable. If you have any problems with any of the below items, just give suzanna@popupadventureplay.org a shout and she will help you sort something out.

CAMPERS
~ Clothing – this will be an active camping conference so please dress for the occasion. If you should feel comfortable climbing trees or lighting fires in your best clothes, then that’s cool with us too. The weather will be mild during the daytime and cool in the evening. More about the site and weather here.
~ A jacket – as it gets quite cool and we will be outside, bring a jacket to keep you nice and warm.
~ Sleeping clothes – it can get cold at night around this time of the year (more details here) so please bring warm clothes to sleep in. Also be aware that the bathrooms will be on site but it will involve a trip out of your tent. Make sure that you have suitable attire for evening wanderings.
~ Footwear – we ask that you bring comfortable shoes to the Campference that is suitable for uneven surfaces. Most of your time will be spent in natural spaces and children underfoot so choose your footwear wisely.
~ Sleeping bag – if you have one or are able to bring one then it will be very useful to you. If you’re travelling from afar and prefer not to wrangle this fluffy monster into your luggage, just drop us a line and we’ll make sure to have one available for you.
~ Coffee/tea mug/flask – we’d like to keep things relatively green, so to save on cups, litter and having to empty the bins too often, if you could bring your own hot beverage container, that would be fabulous.
~ Toiletries – your usual selection of lovely hygiene products will be helpful at the Campference. There will be washing opportunities but we will have to work flexibly to make times work for everyone.
~ Towel – to be used after the toiletries, most likely. We could probably find one for you if your suitcase is looking a little full at this point.
~ Flash light/torch – we will have some available to use, but it might be worth you bringing your own for night time adventures.
~ Sun cream/sun block/sun tan lotion – we will be spending a fair amount of time outside so for those who need it, please supply your own sun-thwarting juice.
~ Cameras – we look forward to seeing your Campference snaps and there will be official photographers during the event too. If you prefer not to be photographed, please get in touch with us.
~ Power banks/Portable power – there will be electricity available in certain parts of the site to charge electrical items, but if you have power banks to hand they may be useful for you. We will again have to be flexible with the way we manage our power use.
~ Spending money – there will be opportunities to perhaps purchase a book or two, or enter some playful fund-raising competitions. There won’t be ATMs nearby so be ready with some cash.
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to try and wrestle a tent into your suitcases. We will be sourcing all the tents on your behalf. Please also note that Wifi and mobile phone signal is limited in the area, but we will be able to help with communications.

NOTES ABOUT ATTENDING THE CAMPFERENCE WITH CHILDREN
~ Please see the above as a guideline for how best to pack for your tiny camper. We would strongly suggest that your children be dressed for mess as they will be able to play freely during the duration of the Campference in clothes you are not worried about. Comfortable shoes are therefore super important and maybe a couple of extra changes wouldn’t go amiss either. If push comes to shove, we could probably do a load of laundry so don’t worry too much about over packing.
~ Should your tiny campers need quiet space to nap during the day, we can work with you on that.
~ There is a chance that your tiny campers will be going on some mini excursions outside of the camp ground so if they have a small backpack and drinks bottle that they can bring, that would be helpful too.
